Domestic Violence Awareness Month Community Forum feat. LA Times journalist Nicole Santa Cruz

  • Peace Over Violence 1015 Wilshire Blvd., Suite 200 Los Angeles United States (map)

Join us for a Domestic Violence Awareness Month Community Forum featuring LA Times journalists Nicole Santa Cruz and Iris Lee and Mala Muñoz from Locatora Radio.

In September, The LA Times published an eye-opening domestic violence article as part of The Homicide Report series, The Times’ effort to tell the story of every homicide victim in Los Angeles County. Journalist Nicole Santa Cruz wrote and reported: As homicides drop in L.A., more women are being killed — often by intimate partners.” This piece sought to bring a gender-based violence focus to the analysis of gun violence in LA County.

Peace Over Violence is proud to welcome Nicole Santa Cruz and Rachael Johnson, the sister of one of the women featured in the story, for what promises to be a rich conversation on the prevalence of domestic violence, gun violence, and their root causes and prevention efforts in Los Angeles. The evening will be hosted and moderated by Mala Muñoz, co-founder and co-host of Locatora Radio.
