An Evening Over Violence: Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Peace Over Violence
We have greatly missed connecting in person and in community with you. We are so excited to announce that Peace Over Violence will be celebrating our 50th (pandemic delayed) anniversary on Wednesday, October 19th at the Taglyan Complex in Hollywood. Our annual fundraising event, An Evening Over Violence, is back! We are proudly celebrating 50 years of social service, social change and social justice and we hope you can join us.
We are planning a special evening to honor the significance of five decades serving survivors of sexual and domestic violence and their families in Los Angeles and beyond. We will be recognizing those who have made significant contributions to our growth and to transforming the wider culture.
We were the first agency of its kind in the country, born here in Los Angeles in 1971. It is poetic that we are hosting our 50th in Hollywood, where the pioneering feminists who started the agency were inspired into action after the rape of their friend on Sunset Boulevard.
Our accomplishments would not have been possible without you, and any celebration would not be complete without you there. As our friend and ally, please join us for a dynamic evening honoring this milestone.
