People who have experienced sexual abuse as children face many challenges, especially in their relational lives.
Over 30% of women and nearly 20% of men have been victims of sexual abuse in childhood or adolescence. This type of abuse is associated with long-term symptoms of depression, anxiety, dissociation, eating disorders, somatic and sexual problems, shame, and guilt. These symptoms tend to accumulate stress and be triggered by it, prompting emotional reactions difficult to control.
This group is a psychoeducational experience where support is also part of it. The curricula have been designed to lead group members through the four stages of trauma recovery.
